Program Itinerary

Day 1: Introduction to Window Films and Safety

Morning Session:

  • Introduction to window films, applications, and industry trends.
  • Benefits of window films (heat reduction, UV protection, energy savings, etc.).

Afternoon Session:

  • Safety precautions and regulations.
  • Hands-on demonstration of basic safety practices.

Day 2: Tools, Equipment, and Surface Preparation

Morning Session:

  • In-depth exploration of tools used in window film installation.
  • Hands-on practice with basic tools and equipment.

Afternoon Session:

  • Identifying glass surfaces and surface preparation techniques.
  • Hands-on experience in surface preparation and cleaning methods.

Day 3: Window Film Application Techniques

Morning Session:

  • Measuring and cutting window film to precise dimensions.
  • Learning and practicing wet and dry application methods.

Afternoon Session:

  • Understanding adhesive application and release liner removal.
  • Trimming and finishing practices.
  • Field trip: Visit to a job site to observe technicians in action.**

Day 4: Specialty Films and Advanced Techniques

Morning Session:

  • Introduction to specialty window films, including security, decorative, and privacy films.
  • Understanding unique characteristics and applications.

Afternoon Session:

  • Techniques for handling curved and irregular glass surfaces.
  • Advanced skills for custom designs and patterns.
  • Hands-on experience with advanced window film installation techniques.

Day 5: Business Basics, Certification, and Lift Experience

Morning Session:

  • Basics of starting a window film installation business.
  • Marketing and customer service strategies.
  • Discussion on the importance of building a strong reputation and network.

Afternoon Session:

  • Review of safety regulations, compliance, and environmental considerations.
  • Hands-on project involving the application of window film.
  • Field trip: Visit a training facility to see technicians at work and experience using a lift for window film installation.**

Information About Job Site Visits

The addition of a job site visit and a training facility visit offers students a practical understanding of real-world installations and the opportunity to observe experienced professionals in action. The lift experience provides hands-on training in a specialized aspect of window film installation, especially when dealing with large commercial or architectural projects.

** All Field Trips are based on availability; Lift Exposure is not a certified lift training course.
