  • Reduce excessive heat gain through your windows
  • Utility bill reduction
  • Achieve a consistently balanced temperature throughout your home
  • Provide increased comfort and energy savings
  • Prevent injury from glass fragments due to crime, destructive weather and terrorism
  • 97% Infrared Heat Rejection (900-1000 nm)

Today's homes are designed to introduce sunlight from many windows covering all angles. Scenic views are a very common request/requirement in homes both new and old. Although they can be beautiful, windows present specific problems, especially with respect to the sun. High air-conditioning costs, fading of your belongings and furnishings, excessive glare and eyestrain, and personal discomfort caused by excessive heat, are just some of these problems. Eastern Solar Glass provides window films and tints through various manufacturers that protect the interior of your home, offer privacy, improve comfort, lower energy costs and provide safety.

Definition: Residential window film is a retrofit application installed directly to the interior side of existing glass which helps correct temperature imbalances between sunny and shady areas as it deflects harsh, uncomfortable glare, heat and solar radiation making living environments immensely more safe and comfortable.

One of the biggest requests from our customers is, “to stop the fading of my floors, pictures, carpets and other belongings.” Our films block up to 99% of the ultraviolet rays that can fade drapes, furniture, artwork and even flooring. Think of our films as sunscreen for your furnishings. Would you like to know what really causes fade? Fade is caused by UV light, visible light, heat (including infrared light), artificial lighting indoors, humidity and poor dye anchorage. Check out the following pie chart.

What Causes Fading?

*indoor artificial lighting, humidity, and poor dye anchorage

Fade protection is an important reason why interior designers often recommend our window films and installations. Many interior designers recommend drapes, blinds and some sort of window treatments but in all cases, they also recommend window tinting to protect the window treatments they are selling and installing. Whereas drapes and blinds absorb heat for solar control, window film reflects it back outside of the building envelope. Unlike drapes and blinds which must be open and closed, window film is a passive protection that works around the clock requiring no human intervention whatsoever. Once the glass is coated, everything inside of it is now protected. Peace of mind is achieved for both the homeowner and the designer in having products installed that protect their client's investment and the designer’s professional reputation.

Our second biggest request is to, “cut but don’t eliminate the heat coming into my home through our windows.” Our films reduce up to 78% of the sun's heat that comes through the home’s windows and skylights by reflecting it away from your home. By reducing the heat, you can also reduce your air conditioning costs. Window film products are fast becoming an integral part of the energy-savings mix for both businesses and residences throughout South Jersey and the entire US. That's because window film will dramatically improve the quality of life for occupants in both home and business settings.

Our third most common request is to, “make it easier for me to see my television or computer screen.” The same films used to control fade and heat can also be easy on the eyes. They can cut annoying glare up to 93%. Opticians and optometrists agree that by reducing the glare, you can alleviate eyestrain, fatigue and loss of concentration. If you find yourself wanting to wear sunglasses, or closing the shades/blinds in your home, you may be in the same situation needing window tinting like many other customers all around the world.

Our last of the most common requests is to, “make my glass more secure from both natural and “un-natural” breakage.” Keeping your family and home out of harm's way is Eastern Solar Glass’ most important task when providing you with safety and security solutions. In areas prone to the impact of unwelcome elements like severe weather and vandalism, safety and security window films and tints are particularly effective at protecting your windows. Our films and tints help to turn all of your windows into storm and shatter resistant windows. In destructive weather, one of the greatest dangers to your family is the threat of broken glass. All of our window films help hold the glass in the frame when struck to help prevent flying glass and dangerous shards. They are very resistant to penetration and tearing, providing your family with additional protection from wind and water damage.

The final comfort you will enjoy is the peace of mind that comes from window film backed by an impressive manufacturers’ warranty and the impeccable service of the area’s oldest window filming company, Eastern Solar Glass. No matter what your glass challenge may be, we want to be the answer for you.

3M, as a company, was the first to introduce and patent window films and tints in 1966. The following sections are the four main lines of films provided by 3M which is supplied or installed by Eastern Solar Glass.

Prestige Series

3M™ Prestige Series offer these benefits:

  • Increased on-angle heat rejection provides additional performance benefits
  • Low reflection enchances views and overall beauty
  • No metals; 3M technology provides superior performance with no corrosion or interference with cell phone signals
  • Extends the life of furnishings by rejecting UV rays, the single largest component of fading
  • Premium 3M manufacturer's warranty
  • Reduces glare and eye discomfort
  • Increases personal safety by minimizing flying glass

Until recently, most window films that rejected heat were dark, used metal or were highly reflective. 3M Prestige Series is a collection of window film compositions that offer a variety of selections to eliminate these problems and perform to the industry's highest standards. Unlike traditional window films that tend to act like mirrors, this collection of four window films have substantially reduced reflectivity. With Prestige Series, a home's exterior stays beautiful, and from the interior, the view is as clear as the original window. And for businesses, potential customers will be able to see merchandise clearly so window displays are maximized. Ceramic Series

The 3M Ceramic Series products are available in three visible light transmissions to meet your specific needs - CM 30, CM 40 and CM 50. Using nanotechnology we’ve created ceramics so fine they are not only invisible to the naked eye they are imperceptible with an ordinary microscope. These ceramics allow us to create a film that is tough, won’t corrode and is so clear your view will remain beautiful. The ceramic series will look good not just the first year, but for years to come. Sputtered metal films can corrode, often changing color on the edges. Films that rely on dyes are prone to fading over time, changing to a purplish hue. By using advanced ceramics, our film retains its color and appearance over time. With energy costs seeming to increase every year, 3M Ceramic Series films are a great way to save money and help the environment. By rejecting up to 59% of the total solar energy and up to 80% of the heat-producing infrared rays, your cooling system will work less and you’ll be able to maintain a more even temperature throughout your home or office. Depending on the size of your home or office you could save hundreds or thousands of dollars each year. Creating a beautiful home or office takes an investment of time and money. Damaging ultra-violet (UV) rays from the sun can ruin that investment, fading your fabrics, photos, artwork, wood, carpet and wallpaper. But, because our advanced film blocks over 99% of UV rays, you can fully enjoy your beautiful interiors for years to come. In addition to its low reflectivity that doesn’t detract from the beauty of your architecture, one of the Ceramic Series’ most impressive characteristics is its amazing clarity. Day or night, our film has a clarity that rivals glass. Check out the following link to see all the options with 3M’s ceramic line of window tinting solutions.
